What an amazing year it has been. In January we were all biting our nails in anticipation of dreadful news from the finiancial sector that could slash and burn our real estate market for the foreseeable future. And it’s true there was some market hesitation as prices and volume of sales did a nose-dive in the early months of the year. However, what do you know? The spring market took off as it it always does and the rest of the year has shown really strong sales in the Ottawa market. Condominiums have fared as well as residential homes and I am looking forward to the year-end figures so that we really get a handle on what has been happening in our city. Needless to say, activity is always slow at the end of December as buyers, sellers and agents alike, enjoy the Christmas season. Once the paper hats have disappeared for another year, I will be anxiously awaiting predictions from the banking community. What is going to happen to mortgage rates in the New Year and how will they affect the real estate market? You can be sure that I will have my ear to the ground and I will be writing my thoughts and findings in this blog so please visit often.
